Learn and identify basic set up of the keyboard and learn the home row keys, shift key and how to maneuver a mouse.
Skill level at 10-14 wcpm.
Use all letter, number and punctuation keys when re-creating a document.
Skill level at 15-19 wcpm.
Re-create a document using all keys accurately on the keyboard.
Skill level at 20 wcpm .

This free website will allow you to determine the lessons your student needs to complete
as well as track their progress.
For the teacher to see how to sign up, make changes and get reports.
For the students to see how to sign in and change keyboard skin.

DANCE MAT TYPING: children up to 9 years old. There are 4 levels divided into 3 stages. Begin at Level 1 and build up your skills gradually through to Level 4. Level 1 starts at Home Row and adds 2 keys after that alternating from left to right hand. Focus on correct fingers, not rushing, and not looking at hands. There is a song and dance in each game as a reward for each Level.

Choose any other a program from the keyboard resource page, listed on the right, that fits your student's needs from practicing with a mouse to other keyboarding lessons. Make sure that they use the typing program to record progress but stop and let them play with keyboarding, but no beyond where they are in the program.
